Just got it few days back after using the ihealth meter for the iphone for few months. This is a piece of cake compared to the finicky ihealth meter. Highly recommend as i have had 100% success on meter and app working at startup everytime for the first 6 days i have had it. Use it twice a day! Less blood and instant results.
I received my meter and Im having fun with it. Only thing missing for now is a built-in lancer cartridge (I use Multi Clix) I think a lancer cartridge would truly make the meter an all-in-one. I would buy it again if that function were to be added. Yes it may increase size but if you designed perhaps not so much.
The app is fun. Im in my initial stages of getting used to it. Will comment more later. You can download and set up the app to get used to it b/f ordering your meter currently at a reduced price $19.99.
The developer is aware that the ordering MySupplies function in the app is not working properly. Hopefully fixed next update.
At this time no carry case is offered to store lancers. Try an eyeglasses case, old meter case, Baggie, drawstring pouch if you need it, etc.
Accurate meter, easy to use and carry in my pocket. I would give it 5 star if it was linked to iPhone health app and/or MyFitness Pal.
However, I have recently like today, upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus I am about to try my lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter in hopes that I can continue to use my Dario meter. If I cannot, I have to wait until they come out with a new hardware. This is the same thing that happened with the IBG star a few years ago when the 30 pin connector was replaced by a lightning connector but the IBG star never kept up.
Connections aside, I found this meter to be pretty darn reliable. Even matching up with my Dexcom CGMS very nicely.
The Dario Blood Glucose monitor device is a really convenient way to get my glucose levels from a tiny droplet of blood. Very easy to keep the device with me in my pocket.
The app is also pretty good. Keeps all the records conveniently in one spot automatically uploaded from the device. Would have been 5 stars if it also loaded the glucose readings into the iPhone Health app where I keep readings of my weight, sleep patterns, etc. PLEASE add this feature - it will be a great selling point.
To start, this glucose meter uses the smallest amount of blood compared to any other that I have used. The app shows activity, counts carbs, and keeps track of insulin. It shows averages of insulin, blood glucose, and carbs. I also love how convenient it is to carry around. Its fast and simple. The app can be downloaded on more than one phone so if your phone dies you can use it on someone elses. if your sugar goes to low an alert will be sent to someone that you choose. It is very accurate most of the time. I would recommend this app to anyone. It is money well spent.
Some bad moments
Without a connection to the Heath app this is really useless. Diabetics use multiple thing and devices to track their Heath.
The app will not let me log in on my iPhone 6s+. It buffers endlessly or tells me I am not connected to the internet (not true). Very frustrating.
In reading the advertised info from Dario, it says that the Dario glucometer works with smartphone "Apple iOS devices, on iOS 6.1 or above." I took that to mean it would work on the iPhone 7, which is "above" the iPhone 6.
I used the adapter that comes with the iPhone 7, and made all of the suggested adjustments that Dario instructions say to do when the message on the downloaded app is that the Dario glucometer is "not connected" to the iPhone. No luck. Still got the "unconnected" message. So, I called Darios Customer Service. The person I spoke with was very nice, telling me that the present Dario glucometer is not compatible with the IPhone 7!!!
Ever since the last iOS update, there is an error message saying that the blood sample is too small. Please fix asap, as proper monitoring is vitally important.
What good is software if the hardware doesnt work? Zero support. Defective out of the box.
Gives you inaccurate results. 25% above the results. And customer service is very poor. I dont recommend this product
